What is my purpose?

This question shapes my journey. Many Africans struggle with it. We were told who to be. We were given foreign names. We were forced into foreign beliefs.

Now, it’s time to reclaim what is ours.

Our identity matters. Names have power. Our ancestors had names with deep meaning. But colonialism took them away. Europeans and Arabs changed them.

We need to bring them back. When we say our real names, we connect with our roots. We must teach our children to be proud of their African identity.

Spirituality is key. African beliefs existed long before foreign religions. Our people worshiped in their own way. They honored nature and spirits.

Then came foreign religions. They told us our beliefs were evil. They replaced them with their own. It’s time to unlearn the lies. There is no savior coming to rescue us. We must rescue ourselves.

Women must rise. Our culture once valued women. They were leaders, warriors, and decision-makers. But foreign influences made them secondary.

Today, we must empower them again. A strong society values both men and women equally. When women thrive, families and communities grow stronger.

LGBTQ+ people exist in Africa. They always have. Colonizers brought homophobia. Before that, African tribes had different views.

Some accepted same-sex relationships. Others had gender-fluid roles. Now, many Africans reject their own people because of foreign ideas.

We must protect our brothers and sisters. No one should be judged for who they are.

Culture and economy go hand in hand. The world profits from African resources. Our music, fashion, and art inspire millions.

Yet, we do not control our own markets. Foreign companies own our industries. We must take charge. Buy African. Support African businesses. Build African wealth.

Religion has controlled us for too long. We were told to worship a savior who never walked our land. A Jesus that was not ours.

We were told to wait for salvation. But waiting keeps us weak. Our power is within. We must believe in ourselves. Our minds create our reality. We are the gods of our destiny.

It’s time to break free. To speak the truth. To reclaim our identity. To empower our people. No one will save Africa but us.

The future is in our hands.
